{"id":1426,"date":"2017-07-10T10:25:01","date_gmt":"2017-07-10T15:25:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.davideriknelson.com\/sbsb\/?p=1426"},"modified":"2017-07-04T07:44:52","modified_gmt":"2017-07-04T12:44:52","slug":"omfg-awesome-things-are-happening-in-rustbelt-hiphop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.davideriknelson.com\/sbsb\/index.php\/2017\/07\/omfg-awesome-things-are-happening-in-rustbelt-hiphop\/","title":{"rendered":"OMFG awesome things are happening in Rustbelt hiphop!!!"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>Tunde Olaniran<\/strong>: <em>OMFG, Tunde Olaniran!<\/em> \u00a0From\u00a0the sadly infamous Flint, MI,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/tundeolaniran.com\/\">Tunde Olaniran<\/a>\u00a0is superfantastically trans-everything. \u00a0Go listen to <em><a href=\"http:\/\/tundeolaniran.com\/transgressor\/\">Transgressor<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>and then buy it and then listen to it again and again and again. \u00a0I seriously absolutely equally love every single track on that album.<\/li>\n<li><strong>iRAWniq<\/strong>: Another Michigander,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/irawniq.bandcamp.com\/album\/irawniq-as-lisa-turtle-vol-1\">she has a fun mixtape<\/a>, but I&#8217;m sorta preferring her more polished EP <a href=\"https:\/\/irawniq.bandcamp.com\/album\/black-girls-on-skateboards\"><em>Black Girls on Skateboards<\/em><\/a>, and the single &#8220;Cunt&#8221;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Passalacqua<\/strong>: I&#8217;m still exploring these guys, both from Detroit; been loving everything I&#8217;ve tried by them. <a href=\"https:\/\/passalacqua.bandcamp.com\/album\/zebehazy-summer\">This mixtape<\/a> is a low-risk place to start, but I&#8217;m leaning more toward their albums <em><a href=\"https:\/\/passalacqua.bandcamp.com\/album\/church\">CHURCH<\/a><\/em>\u00a0and <a href=\"https:\/\/passalacqua.bandcamp.com\/album\/passalacqua\"><em>Passalacqua<\/em><\/a>, and the <em><a href=\"https:\/\/passalacqua.bandcamp.com\/album\/banglatown-ep-2\">Banglatown<\/a><\/em> EP.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Noname<\/strong>: This poet\/rapper from Chicago is awesome, the natural inheritor of the crown Lauren Hill dropped after releasing <em>The Miseducation of Lauren Hill<\/em>. \u00a0Noname&#8217;s <em><a href=\"http:\/\/mixtapemonkey.com\/1914\/noname-telefone\">Telefono<\/a><\/em> mixtape is absolutely mandatory listening. \u00a0Go grab it now!
